The Healthy Green Smoothie

I try to get a good dose of health and servings of vegetables through my smoothie.  It is especially good way to use a lot of the farm fresh veggies without spending time cooking them!

Recipe:

  • 2 cups packed leafy greens (combination of chard, kale, spinach)

  • 1 apple -cored but skin left on

  • 1 or 2 stalks celery

  • 1 inch piece ginger

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (add more based on your taste)

  • 1.5 cups water

Blend in any strong blender - I have a Vitamix

It is very filling - can be a light meal too!
